For those of our clients based in Somerset, Somerset Council is relaunching its share of the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), with £1 million of funding available to support businesses and community projects across the county.
The new 2025/26 programme opened 1 May 2025 which is open on a first come first basis through until December 2025. This initiative aims to bolster the rural economy and foster growth for micro and small businesses in Somerset.
For example cider farms have been able to use the grant to invest in new bottling equipment to improve efficiency.
The REPF is designed to provide capital funding for projects that will boost productivity, create jobs, and improve community facilities. There are many eligible projects these include those that develop new products, diversify income streams, and improve essential services and assets for local people and businesses.
