LEADER FUNDING
The RPA have just updated their information on the LEADER funding scheme which offers grants to farmers who are looking to develop their businesses.
Up to 40% grant is available for projects which:
- Support small businesses and farm diversification
- Boost rural tourism
- Increase farm productivity
- Provide rural services
- Provide cultural/heritage activities
You apply for funding through your area Local Action Group (LAG). Each area has different priorities and therefore it is important to talk to your local LAG officer before embarking on a detailed application.
This link https://www.gov.uk/guidance/rural-development-programme-for-england-leader-funding will show you a map of the different LAG areas so you can see which one you are in. Then if you click on the link to the approved leader groups you will be able to see the priorities of the leader group in your area, and find the contact number of your local LAG contact so you can discuss the likely success of your application before putting a lot of time and effort into it.
